INFO

“Hierarchical Models in Preclinical Research”

Workshop Objectives

The aim of the workshop is to provide an overview of recent Bayesian methods for application in preclinical research. As always, the workshop welcomes presentations by the participants on current research topics, particularly:

  •  Bayesian methods in pre-clinical experimentation, and link to early clinical stages
  •  Theory, application and implementation of informative priors
  •  Mixed models and their application
  •  ”Borrowing” of information, in particular through meta-analytic predictive priors
  •  Prediction of future success

Invited Tutorial

Sebastian Weber and Lukas Widmer (Novartis AG, Basel):

Applied modelling in drug development via brms

After an introduction, the tutor will lead us through practical applications in R using the package brms.
Applications will cover inclusion of historical data, nonlinear longitudinal analyses, mixed effects models for repeated measurements, and dose-effect investigations. Examples will mainly come from preclinical contexts.
More details, e.g. R packages required: https://opensource.nibr.com/bamdd/

Instructions for Authors

Please send abstracts (max. one A4 page, 12pt) of presentations to one of the organizers (below) by e-mail. The expected length for each presentation is 40 or 20 minutes plus discussion. The workshop language will be English, but presentations in German will also be welcome. Presentation files should be made available for publication on the websites of the working groups.
